We headed onto a brand new and very special door this evening, The Nepalese Community Centre. They welcomed us with open arms and we’re already excited to come here again! The Nepalese Community are real pillars of the Folkestone and Cheriton community, with such a rich history we’re incredibly lucky to have been invited to their space to share some of the Nepalese Solstice traditions together.
As the door opened we were greeted by drumming and dancing; colour and music filled the air and we were totally mesmerised by what we were seeing. The drum beat was infectious and it was hard not to join in!
As the music subsided we were invited to enter the centre and come together for some delicious and lovingly prepared food. There was even some home-made rice wine! What a fantastic celebration of community and culture.
