The final door of 2023! What a rollercoaster it’s been, I think we’ve managed to see a little bit of everything this year, and it’s given us plenty of ideas for next year.
This evening we returned to St Eanswythe’s Church for our usual Christmas Eve get together. Our wonderful Lady Christmas had a chat to us all about gratitude, joy and happiness in these trying times – it was lovely to hear so many joyous tales of thanks.
There were also quite a few lanterns being held in the crowd, made at our Block 67 workshop last week, they served as a beautiful reminder of the light that we all carry inside us when the days remain dark.
Onto the opening of the door! A wonderful FLAC choir emerged with their fabulous rendition of Ding Dong Merrily On High, led by Malcolm Munroe this choir had only met an hour and a half before the door opened!
We were overwhelmed by their beautiful performance and we ended the night with a full crowd, a capella rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
We are truly bowled away by the support of our communityand cannot express enough thanks to you all for meeting us at 6pm every evening. To our volunteers, venues, performers, technicians, practitioners, photographers and everyone behind the scenes – well, we just couldn’t do it without you.
Thank you and happy Christmas everyone.
See you all next year!
